SHILLONG: The State Government is yet to make any communication on the rehabilitation package promised to the disbanded ANVC-B members.
Stating this on Tuesday, ANVC-B leader Bernard Marak lamented that the State Government was indifferent to their demand despite the fact that the Centre had already released the Rs 1.5 lakh each as a one-time assistance to the disbanded cadres following the peace settlement in September 2014.
“We have tried to communicate with the CM but in vain,” he said, adding that the group will now write to the Chief Minister for immediate release of the rehabilitation package. When contacted, official sources said that the matter of release of funds  was pending with the Finance department.
“The pending stipend of Rs 3500 will also be released after the clearance from the Finance department,” sources said.
