Meghalaya Day awards

SHILLONG: The State Cabinet on Wednesday approved the names of the recipients of the Meghalaya Day Awards.
Speaking to media persons after the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma said based on recommendations of the advisory committee, the Cabinet decided to nominate H. Ryntathiang for the   U Tirot Sing Award which is conferred to personalities from the field of Arts and Culture.
The Cabinet also decided to confer the Pa Togan Sangma Award for social service to Rev. F.D. Sangma and the U Kiang Nangbah Award for achievement in sports to noted State footballer Eugenson Lyngdoh.
Eugenson, who plays for I-League team Bengaluru FC, was recently awarded the title of Player of the Year by the All India Football Federation.
