WJH pressure groups to hold black flag march

SHILLONG: Thirteen pressure groups from Jowai will hold a black flag march on February 5 in protest against State Government’s alleged indifference towards the demand for removal of the West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner’s and Additional SP’s removal.
The organizations which include JSU, KSU-JHDU, HNPF-JHC, MPUF and JYF among others are also unhappy over the Government’s silence on the demands of the Kiang Nangbah Government College Students Union.
Deputy Commissioner, Arun Kumar Kembhavi and Additional Superintendent of Police, Shemphang Syrti had sanctioned the use of tear gas against the agitating students of Kiang Nangbah Government College. The students were also lathi charged.
The 13 organizations have also demanded compensation and withdrawal of FIRs filed against the students.
