GUWAHATI: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly molested and hacked to death while her minor brother, who came to rescue here, was also injured in Jorabat area in Assam-Meghalaya border on Wednesday.
Reports said the girl was allegedly molested and then killed with a dagger by a daily wage labourer, engaged by her father at their residence.
Her brother Vinod had tried to rescue the girl but he was also attacked with the dagger and sustained serious injuries.
He has been admitted at Sonapur civil hospital.
Byrnihat police of Meghalaya have started investigation into the case.
The main accused is absconding. (UNI)
