SHILLONG: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has projected Meghalaya’s State credit plan for 2016-17 at Rs 2254.83 crore.
This was revealed during the state credit seminar, unveiled by Additional Chief Secretary KS Kropha and organised by NABARD on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, Kropha said that with a good deposit base, banks in the state need to ensure higher lending within the state so that deserving people are supported.
MS Rao also spoke on the need for line departments and banks to work together within the constraints and called for higher investments through bank finance to deserving sections of the society.
