Talks on empowering traditional institutions

SHILLONG: Synjuk Ki Nongsynshar Shnong ka Bri U Hynniewtrep will convene a general meeting on Wednesday at Wahingdoh Community Hall, Shillong at 11 am.
Highlight of the meeting will be Chief Minister Mukul Sangma’s invitation for talks on the same day at 3 pm to discuss the burning issue of empowering traditional institutions.
It may be recalled that the Chief Minister had come under criticism from some sections after he assured the Nokmas in Garo hills to design appropriate laws to  serve the interest of the people and manage natural resources which belongs to the people, particularly to the custodian of the A’king or the Nokma.
The Headmen’s body has urged various Dorbar Shnong including the Executive members and office bearers to attend the meeting.
