SHILLONG: HSPDP legislator and former Chief Executive Member of KHADC Ardent    Basaiawmoit has flayed Chief Minister Mukul Sangma for belittling KHADC.
“He (Mukul) is not fit to be a leader for his lack of concern on the functioning of KHADC,” Basaiawmoit said, while referring to the statement of the Chief Minister on Wednesday that it was the Council which did not bother to incorporate the rectifications suggested by the Government since it came into conflict with the Central laws, thereby delaying the process of giving nod to the Bill.
However, Basaiawmoit said that the Chief Minister is least bothered about the traditional institutions and hence, he wanted to target the KHADC very often.
“Whenever the Chief Minister speaks about VAB, he mentions about its rules coming into conflict with the central laws, but the framers of the district councils had kept in mind all the provisions when the councils were formed”, Basaiawmoit  said.
