SHILLONG: Khasi Students Union (KSU) Nongthymmai circle has expressed concern over the inefficiency of the concerned authorities in implementing the National Food Security Act as there are many loopholes in the selection of list of beneficiaries.
In a statement issued to the media on Saturday, the Union alleged that there was unsystematic execution of the scheme after it was found that locals were not found in the list of beneficiaries.
The union urged Fair Price Shops in and around Nongthymmai to withhold the distribution of ration card after the union planned to hold talks with the State Government. At the same time, it urged the Dorbar Shnong to ensure that the beneficiaries get their dues.
