SHILLONG: A day after RTI activist Disparsing Rani accused Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) CD Kynjing of violating the RTI Act, the latter challenged  the activist to go to the higher court and file a review petition on the matter.
“If he is not happy with the response, he can go to a higher court and file a review petition or appeal,” Kynjing said.
It may be mentioned that Rani has petitioned the Meghalaya Governor accusing Chief Information Commissioner (CIC), CD Kynjing of violating the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 since he allegedly rejected a complaint without any hearing on grounds that the activist had delayed bringing the issue to the notice of the CIC.
Rani had sought an RTI on the implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission from three blocks-Mawryngkneng, Shella-Bholaganj and Mawsynram-which had failed to furnish information sought by him on June 30 last year.
