TURA: A former militant of disbanded ANVC-B surrendered to police in North Garo Hills on Wednesday afternoon and handed over a country-made revolver.
The militant, Daud Marak (23) hailing from A’merim Gairong bazar was part of the ANVC-B but had later fled to Karbi Anglong in Assam. He returned some time ago but after hearing stories of angry mob attacks on criminals extorting money and fearing for his own life he decided to turn himself in to the authorities.
