Discover Jaintia kicks off

JOWAI: The three-day 10th ‘Discover Jaintia’ – a tourism festival organised jointly by the Jaintia Tourism and Enviroment Society (JTES) and the West Jaintia Hills District Administration was inaugurated at Thadlaskein lake, Mukhla by Deputy Chief Minister,  RC Laloo on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Laloo said, “There is still a lot to discover in Jaintia Hills which has vast tourism potentiality.”
A musical night at Thadlaskein lake was also organised on the occasion.
Mizo cultural troupes from North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), a group from Pynter Village, East Khasi Hills and a Kathak group from Delhi performed on the occasion.
In the evening musical bands–the Nexeus and Colour– alongwith DJ Arpan entertained the crowd.
