SHILLONG: Even though the BSF claims that the proscribed HNLC is conducting recruitment drive in areas close to Indo-Bangla border, the State Police says that it is yet to receive any such inputs.
Police sources said that the BSF has not shared any such information with the cops.
Reacting to a query, sources said that the HNLC has only 10-15 cadres in Bangladesh.
Sources, however, admitted that the outfit has a few sympathisers in social networking site Facebook.
Sources informed that the outfit had recently circulated extortion notes in Mawkyrwat which prompted police to swing into action.
As per BSF, the HNLC and the GNLA are trying to revive themselves in Bangladesh and both outfits have started recruiting people in the areas close to India-Bangladesh border.
