Thief convicted for six months
A person identified as Vicky Biswa was recently convicted after he was caught on August 23 last year, by the residents of Quinton Road with items stolen from the area.
Biswa was convicted for the charges and sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment by a lower court.
One drowned
On February 26, one Pala Bening got drowned in Syntung River at Mawkynrew (EKH).
Thief caught
On February  26 at around  7.30 pm, one Kitboklang Kharbhih (24) was caught red handed while he was stealing car tape from one vehicle (ML-05D-0036) belonging to one  Lurshai Marbaniang at Dinam Hall, Jaiaw Pdeng.
Assault
One Shekhar Nag lodged a complaint that on February 25, one Amit Deb assaulted his (complainant) brother and his family members at Ferndale Apartments, Keating Road, Shillong.
Minor raped
On February 23, one Tyngshailin Marngar raped one eleven year old girl in his house at Mawkaton village (WKH).
Bikes stolen
On February 20, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (AS-19E-4577) belonging to Shri Kraiandi B Marak from his residence at Spring Hills, Tura (WGH).
On Feb. 19, miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08D-9653) belonging to one  Tascam R Marak from Spring Hills, Tura (WGH).
Minor raped by juvenile  
On February 17, one juvenile raped one seven year old girl in his residence at Nongrangoi village (WKH).
