New CS to take charge today

SHILLONG: Chief Secretary Barkos Warjri will retire on Monday to pave way for Additional Chief Secretary K.S. Kropha to assume charge as the new chief secretary on the same day.
Kropha, a 1982 batch IAS officer from Himachal Pradesh, had earlier functioned as the additional chief secretary to the Chief Minister’s secretariat and in charge Home (Police) and Political departments.
Kropha will retire on December 20, next year.
It was in June, 2014 that Warjri had assumed office as the chief secretary.
Four additional CSs: There are as many as four additional chief secretaries including the newly appointed Shreeranjan who will hold the charge of Urban Affairs and Transport.
Others are Y. Tsering (Mining & Geology and Health & Family Welfare), P.S. Thangkhiew (Civil Defence and Home Guards) and Hector Marwein (Passport and Prisons).
