Abattoir ready for inauguration

SHILLONG: The Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department is awaiting a date from the chief minister to inaugurate the abattoir at Mawiong.Sources said that training has been provided to butchers who will be working at the slaughter house.The abattoir has been constructed at a cost of Rs 22 crore by the Rapsang Group of Companies, Shillong, in collaboration with Real Growth Company, Chennai.
The project has been completed after many delays and is now awaiting a formal inauguration.
