Public meeting at Motphran
The Hynniewtrep National People’s Movement has called for a public meeting on March 9 at Motphran to discuss the Village Administration Bill and other issues. The meeting will start at noon.
Crop insurance scheme
In the interest of farmers’ security, the Government of India has launched the Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance scheme in January, 2016 to motivate the farmers to get their crops insured well in time to avoid any financial loss due to flood, drought, hail storm, pest attacks etc. Farmers can get the detailed information from the Adviser (Agriculture and Horticulture) NEC Secretariat, Nongrim Hills, Shillong.
Wall painting, graffiti contest
As part of the Chief Minister’s Youth for Green Campaign Movement, the West Khasi Hills district administration will organize a wall painting/graffiti competition on March 18 at Nongkhnum, West Khasi Hills. Interested participants can submit their names to S. Warjri, EAC, Nongstoin and the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills, on or before March 10. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners.
General meeting
The general meeting of Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers Association, West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills, will be held on March 5 at Rikhasi Free Morning School, Nongstoin at 10:30 AM. Teachers from the two districts and JACATAM members have been asked to attend the meeting.
Programme
Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Shillong in association with Metallica-Sargam Sports & Cultural Club, Shillong will organize a day long programme on block level neighbourhood youth parliament on youth empowerment through skill development – A make in India initiative, on the R.B. Anoopchand School premises, Keating Road, Shillong, on March 5 from 10.30 AM.
Postponed
The organizers of Meghalaya Superstar have postponed the finals to April 2 as the earlier date collided with the MBOSE examinations. Viewers who wish to vote for the favourite contestant can meet the organizers at the office of All Meghalaya Dancing Association (AMDA) at Synod Super Market Ground Floor Room No. 20.
