Woman held with illegal liquor at Shallang

NONGSTOIN: The West Khasi Hills Excise department on Wednesday seized over 48 cases of illegal liquor which was to be supply at Shallang market area of West Khasi Hills and picked up a woman for questioning.
Inspector in charge of the Excise department, West Khasi Hills, S. Khongsit, told media that on getting information about supply of illegal liquor at Shallang area, the Excise Police conducted raids at Dasar village in Shallang and seized 48 cases of illegal liquor belonging to one Claris Sangma who was picked up.
The woman along with the seized liquor will be produced before the court for further action, Khongsit informed.
