SHILLONG: Shillong police on Sunday apprehended two persons including a woman from the city along with 19.37 grams of heroin.
District police chief M. Kharkrang said that a police party from Laitumkhrah which was patrolling the areas around Laitumkhrah, Lummawrie and Fire Brigade spotted a white car (WB-02-U-4637) parked at Lummawrie, Laitumkhrah.
When police questioned Wanker Thubru (24) of Mawlai Nongkwar, who was inside the car, police found that he was peddling heroin.
The Anti Narcotics Task Force swung into action and on conducting search found 5.89 grams of heroin packed in soap case, one Golden tobacco tin container and cash Rs 26,050 which was the sale proceeds from drugs.
Thubru led police to a woman identified as Ngaihnu Vaiphei (38) of Madanrting, a permanent resident of Churachandpur in Manipur, who was apprehended along with 13.48 grams of heroin.
Kharkrang said the woman is a hardcore drugs supplier and had been earlier arrested in Madanrting under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
