Man posing as DRDA officer arrested

JOWAI: Police arrested a person identified as Warimio Rymbai (46) of New Hill Jowai from Rymbai village while he was posing as a DRDA officer from Jowai and collecting money from Rymbai village people.
According police, he collected Rs 7,000 each from people by telling that he got a scheme from Modi Sarkar  for poor people and that he will give them a scheme worth Rs 1 lakh each after two months.
After investigation it was revealed that the person was neither a DRDA officer nor government official, but in fact an imposter.
He  had already collected money from several people from different villages under East Jaintia Hills and other districts.
