BSF arrests FICN racketeer

SHILLONG: BSF troops at Barmanbari, South West Khasi Hills, on Tuesday apprehended one Khusil Hajong (30), a suspected FICN racketeer from Balat border haat and recovered 18,000 FICN and Indian currency Rs 1,920 from his possession.
During interrogation, he revealed that he was involved in smuggling of liquor and ganja. He had collected the money (FICN) from his Bangladeshi associate whom he used to supply liquor and ganja from India.
He also disclosed that he used to circulate the FICN in the local market at Balat, Dangar and Shillong for purchasing consignment of liquor etc.
In another incident, BSF troops deployed at Dalu, West Garo Hills, apprehended one Indian liquor smuggler Dilasson A. Sangma while he was trying to cross into Bangladesh.
During frisking, BSF troops recovered 24 bottles of liquor from his possession. One motorcycle bearing regd. no. ML 08 D 6902 was also seized from him.
