TURA: The District Congress Committee in South Garo Hills has conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members of Tura MP, late P A Sangma who died recently in Delhi.
The DCC in its message expressed great shock and grief over the demise of Sangma stating it was he who gave recognition to the community at the national and the international level.
“His death has brought an end to a ‘golden chapter’ of the tribals’ voice of not only Meghalaya but the entire North Eastern region. A great vacuum has been left in the field of Garo Hills politics and Meghalaya in general which may need years to fill. May God give strength to the family members of Late P A Sangma in this hour of grief,” it said.
Meanwhile, echoing the same views, the All India Hajong Welfare Association (AIHWA) and the Meghalaya Hajong Welfare Association (MHWA) have also stated that Sangma’s death is an irreparable loss not only for the people of Garo Hills but for the Nation as a whole. The associations prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and also for strength to be bestowed on the bereaved family members during their time of mourning.
