Friend turns criminal as police solve theft case

SHILLONG: The city police on Thursday solved a tricky theft case within a day.
On Thursday afternoon, one Zakir Hussain of Happy Valley taxi stand reported that unknown miscreants had stolen Rs 17,100 from his residence. Hussain was accompanied by his friend from Barpeta, Assam, Jamaluddin.
Later, following investigating by personnel from Madanriting PS led by Inspector B.K. Mishra, it was revealed that Jamaluddin had hidden the money in his vehicle.
The accused admitted to the crime and led the police to his vehicle from where the entrie amount was recovered.
