Mahila Congress celebrates Women’s Day

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress celebrated Women’s Day at the Congress Bhavan on March 12 where dignitaries MPCC president D.D.Lapang, Home Minister  Roshan Warjri, AICC General Secretary in charge North East Mahila Congress Jarjum Ete, and Chairperson of Meghalaya State Women’s Commission  Theilin Phanbuh, graced the occasion where they  highlighted the important role of women in all spheres of the society and the importance of gender equality.
Other MLAs and MDCs were also present along with a large number of Mahila Congress workers from different districts of Meghalaya.
The Bharatnatyam dance was performed by the North Shillong Mahila Congress members from Jail road and the traditional Khasi dance by the Pynursla Mahila Block Congress.
The President MPCC Joplyn Scott Shylla expressed her gratitude to all Mahila Congress workers for making the  function a success.
