HC stays prisons recruitment

SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya has stayed the entire select list published in 2015 by the prisons department for recruitment of staff to jails in the state.
After hearing two separate petitions, the Single Bench of the High Court of Meghalaya on Monday said that “the entire select list published pursuant to the advertisement dated 21st May, 2015 issued by the Chairman, Prisons Recruitment Board, Meghalaya, shall remain stayed till the outcome of the writ petition”. The Court said that the respondents have the right to file application for modification of the order and also filing counter affidavit.
The matter will come for hearing after three weeks.
