Juvenile attempts to rape minor
SHILLONG: In yet another case of sexual assault, a juvenile allegedly attempted to rape a 13-year-old minor girl at Mawlai Mawapkhaw on Wednesday.
Shopkeeper threatened by student leader
SHILLONG: A member of the Manipuri Students Union (MSU) misbehaved and manhandled a shop owner at Police Bazar on Tuesday. According to an FIR filed in this regard, Elangbam Bijendra Singh Meitei, Information & Publicity Secretary, MSU also threatened the shopkeeper inside his shop.
Labourer dead
SHILLONG: A labourer died after he fell down from a  running truck at Dallanggre village  in West Garo Hills. The incident happened on March 13 at around 8.10 pm, when the labourer, Md. Mofizul Hoque fell down from the running truck (ML-08B-3903) driven by Md. Aminul Islam at Dallanggre village (WGH) and sustained injuries. Later, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to CHC Phulbari.
Impersonation
SHILLONG:  A person allegedly impersonated as an auditor of Bakdil NGO and demanded money ranging from Rs. 300/- to Rs. 500/- from the secretaries of VEC, Dambo Bima and VEC Rongmithu. Dr. W.C.R Marak , BDO, Dambo Rongjeng Block lodged a complaint that on March  4, one Lewart G Momin impersonated as the auditor and claimed that he was authorized by the complainant to audit all VEC project details, wage receipts, etc and also demanded money from the VEC secretaries.
