China releases 2 Indians detained for visa norm violations

New Delhi: Two Indian nationals who were detained by authorities in China for violating visa regulations have been released, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Thursday.
The minister said she has been informed by consulate officials that Dipankar Dutta and Kiran Pakhare have been released from a Chinese jail.
“Our Consulate has informed me that both Dipankar Dutta and Kiran Pakhare have been released from Chinese jail,” she said on twitter.com. Swaraj said the Indian duo was “detained by Chinese authorities for violation of visa regulations”. “They are both returning home,” she added. (PTI)
