SHILLONG: Ramakrishna Paramahamsa made religion easy with his incarnation and the spiritual path, which used to be less traveled in the past, but got a fillip in the process. This was stated by Swami Chinmayanandaji Maharaj, former head, Ramakrishna Kutir, Almora, Uttarakhand on the concluding day of the three day (Mar 25-27), annual celebration, which is observed on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.
In this event, the first day is dedicated to the saint- philosopher, Swami Vivekananda and Holy Mother Sarada Devi. Speaking further, Swami Chinmayanandaji Maharaj said, “Belief and eagerness to attain god realization” is important adding that after correcting someone in their own life situation Ramakrishna would uplift them using the individual’s own characteristics.
Swami Purnanandaji Maharaj, former secretary, Ramakrishna Mission TB Sanatorium, Ranchi, Jharkhandquoting Swami Vivekananda said that Satya Yuga (or the golden age) began with the incarnation of Ramakrishna.He gave philosophical insights into the different ages that have descended on planet earth since time immemorial.
While giving a comparison, he said how things shaped in each of these ages. He spoke about various incidents and realizations from the life and teachings of Ramakrishna.
Explaining god realization he narrated hymns from the Bhagwad Gita and Upanishad while giving their etymological meaning, explained the meaning of unity with the divine, the intermingling of Jiva (being) and Shiva, that is, wherever there is life there is Shiva.Quoting Ramakrishnahe said that in all being there is the presence of Shiva.He concluded quoting Ramakrishna that all religion is true and to serve man is to serve god.
Swami Sarvasthanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Ashrama, Rajkot, Gujarat while speaking on the life and teaching of Ramakrishna said how Ramakrishna’s message is useful in our day to day life. Informing that to know Ramakrishna we have to depend on Swamiji who said thatRamakrishna came for a particular need of humankind at a time when the existing situation was complex.s
He further narrated that Ramakrishnacame as anilliterate person, to destroy the ego that comes out of superficial knowledge.Speaking further he said that his life teaches us that Vedic knowledge comes automatically as you lead a pure life.”He had an absolute childlike purity. He was love personified,” he said adding that many pundits and philosophers used to come and sit athis feetwho would go back illumined.
“Ramakrishna would explain his points in simple language and way full of love and one could see that love oozing out of his persona,” he informed while pointing the anti-religious inferno during his time and how he showed that each religion is a path to godhead.
Meanwhile, a special Chandi Puja and SaptashatiHoma, a spiritual recitation fromChandi – 700 mantras on Goddess Durga, for world peace and prosperity was performed on Sundaymorning by Swami Natarajanandaji Maharaj, President, Ramakrishna Math, Ghatshila followed bysacrificial offerings by devotees at the fire altar, divine bhog (food offering) to the Holy Mother and arati.
The three day programme witnessed at the Vivekananda Auditorium of the Ashrama premises at Laitumkhrahalso saw Shiva NamaSankirtan, Maa Nama Sankirtan and Ramakrishna NamaSankirtan, respectively followed by public meetingsin the afternoon.Shankar Shome, a renowned singer from West Bengal and his party performed musical presentation on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, the Holy Mother and Sri Ramakrishna respectively on first, second and third day of the celebration.
