National Deworming Day

SHILLONG: The District Medical and Health Officer, East Khasi Hills District has informed that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India will observe the National Deworming Day (NDD) on April 4 in Meghalaya with an aim to intensify efforts towards eradicating Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH).
The objective of National Deworming Day is to deworm all preschool and school age children between the ages of 1-19 years through the platform of schools and anganwadi centre in order to improve their overall health, nutritional status, access to education and quality of life.
