SHILLONG: Police have arrested one person for allegedly raping a 40-year-old woman at Phlangwanbroi in East Khasi Hills on Wednesday night.
The accused has been identified as Io Iawrod.
In another incident on March 29 at around 7 pm, one Parul Laskar attempted to rape a 13-year-old girl while she was on her way home from school at New Hill, Jowai (WJH).
