Woman falls prey to cyber crime

SHILLONG: A woman in the city was duped in another instance of cyber crime.
The woman of Professor Colony, Kharmalki, Malki, Shillong, lodged a complaint that on March 31 morning she received a phone call from a person who identified himself as one Rahul Kumar Singh of SBI and asked for her ATM details. Later, she found that a sum of Rs. 41,993 was fraudulently withdrawn from her account.

Rape attempt
SHILLONG:  One person allegedly attempted to rape a woman in Khliehriat in East Jaintia Hills.
One girl lodged a complaint that on March 30 at around 8 pm, one Michael Lyngdoh parked his vehicle in front of her house at Byndihati village and used loud horn. When she came out and objected, the accused pulled her inside the vehicle and took her to Khliehriat East where he attempted to rape and also threatened her with dire consequences.
