Accidents in Meghalaya

A series of cases of hit and run involving moving vehicles were reported in the past few days, where on April 2, around 12.40 pm, one Maruti Alto car (number not known) dashed against one Scooty (ML-05M-6715) ridden by one E. Marbaniang (18 yrs) at Umshyrpi Bridge. As a result, the rider and one pillion rider sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital.

A truck (NL-01B-6722), dashed against one motorcycle (AS-01-AV-2573) at 12th Mile, Byrnihat (RB) on April 1. As a result, the rider sustained injuries and was shifted to Guwahati for treatment. Earlier, one truck (number not known) knocked down one Md. Safiqul Islam at 15th Mile, Byrnihat (RB) on March 31 around 8:30 pm. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Nongpoh where he died.
At Rynjah, Baiar Marbaniang (24 yrs) was knocked down by one motorcycle (ML-05G-1941) on April1 around 9:30 pm. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong.

In another incident, a 60-year-old woman, pillion rider of a motorcycle ridden by Bankitlang Lyngdoh (36 yrs) was injured at Nongthymmai after it was dashed by a Hyundai i-20 car (number not known) on April 1 at around 10.15 pm. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to NEIGRIHMS.

On April 1, around 11.30 pm, an accident took place between one Maruti car (ML-05G-2495) driven by Arkiking Kharbamon (23 yrs) and one Bolero (ML-05L-5076) driven by Justin D Dkhar (34 yrs) at Malki Point. As a result, the driver of the Maruti car sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital.
