On April 2, at around 4.30 am, unidentified miscreants assaulted Ronit Kharthangmaw (34) with a Khukri, at Mawlonghat. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital.
Cheated
Ginseng A Sangma lodged a complaint on April 1 that his business partner Md. Soydur Islam of Mankachar, Assam has cheated him of Rs 2,87,055, being the amount due against the purchase of betel nuts from the complainant.
Rape
One woman lodged a complaint that on March 30 morning, her 14-year-old sister went missing from their residence at Jowai Police Reserve (WJH). Later, she was found with one Chester Roy Suchiang, at Jowai Polytechnic, where the accused allegedly raped her.
Theft
Krebingston R Marak lodged a complaint that on March 29, one girl stole his mobile phone from his quarter at Judicial Officers Complex, Dobasipara, Tura (WGH).
Earlier, on March 28 night, unknown miscreants broke into the mobile shop of Manual Sangma at Baghmara (SGH) and stole mobile phones, earphones, and card readers.
Again, on March 26, around 10.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one mobile phone from the residence of Adrina Diana Kharmalki at Malki Nongshiliang. Later, Memorica Grace Suiam lodged a complaint that on March 31, at around 1.30 pm, unidentified persons stole her mobile phone while travelling in a local taxi from Barik Point towards Fire Brigade.
