Vehicle inspector accused of extortion

SHILLONG: The North East Indigenous People Federation (NEIPF) has accused a motor vehicle inspector of Ratacherra Weigh Bridge of extorting money from coal trucks.
Marshall Biam, president, NEIPF lodged a complaint that one Pynwanki Tyngkan, MVI of Ratacherra Weigh Bridge (EJH), extorted money from the drivers of coal laden trucks.
Meanwhile, he also filed an FIR stating that one Dap Marbaniang, Lessee of Ratacherra Weigh Bridge (EJH), charged a fee that was more than the rate prescribed by the government and also manipulated the records maintained in the Weigh Bridge.
