SSA teachers’ body president to visit city

SHILLONG: Arvind Rana, the president of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers Welfare Association (SSATWA) and National Convener of the Association will be on a three-day visit to the state from April 14 to 16.
During the visit, Rana will take part in the general meeting of the SSA schools and SSA teachers under the banner of the Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) Central Body which will be held here on April 16 and the 2nd National Level Meet of the  Association of SSA-RMSA Teachers of India.
Aristotle C. Rymbai, working president of MSSASA Central Body and Co-Convener of Association of SSA-RMSA Teachers of India while addressing to the media, said that Rana’s visit aims to put pressure on the State Meghalaya and the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to fulfill and implement the demands highlighted in the memorandum submitted to the State Government through the Education Minister R. C. Laloo on February 2 and also to the Union HRD Minister Smriti Zubin Irani on March 29,during her visit to Shillong.
Further, Rymbai said, that the 2nd National Level Meet of the Association of SSA-RMSA Teachers of India will be held on April 14, at Khasi National Durbar Hall, Mawkhar and the meet will be attended by delegations from all SSA-RMSA sister associations of Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.
