Medals await voters

SHILLONG: In a novel initiative, the Election Commission will present medals to the first five early voters of the May 16 polls to Tura Lok Sabha seat.
“We are planning this initiative to encourage people to come out in large numbers to cast vote”, Chief Electoral Officer Frederick Kharkongor said on Wednesday.
Kharkongor said that five each early voters from as many as 945 polling stations will be honoured with medals with the logo of Election Commission of India.
As many as 4,725 early voters will get the medals.
