SHILLONG: Often slammed for interrupted power supply and hefty bills, the MeECL on Wednesday averted what could have been a disaster for the residents of Jhalupara by quickly repairing an electric pole in the area.
The tilted electric pole which posed a great threat to the residents and the shopkeepers was assessed and temporarily fixed by the MeECL officials immediately after a complaint was lodged in this regard.
Later on Thursday, the MeECL officials changed the entire electric pole much to the relief of the people of the area.
