Washington: A 20-year-old man was arrested for threatening to bomb a rally for Republican front-runner Donald Trump in Connecticut.
On Saturday around 12.45 p.m., the US Secret Service contacted the Connecticut State Police after seeing a post on Twitter threatening to “bomb” the Trump rally, authorities said.
According to state police, the Twitter post said, “Is someone going to bomb the Trump rally or am I going to have to?” ABC News reported.
A second post warned the suspect’s friend to have his family members leave the rally so they would not be hurt.
Investigators found the social media posts, which were open to the public, came from the area of Ardsley Road in Waterbury city from the account of Sean Taylor Morkys.
Morkys was located by state police counter terrorism detectives, Waterbury police officers and special agents from the US Secret Service.
Morkys is charged with first-degree threatening, inciting injury to person or property, and second-degree breach of peace.
He was released on a $25,000 bond and is due in court on May 4. (IANS)
