SHILLONG: In a tragic incident, an SDO from the engineer wing of the Health and Family Welfare Department died after being electrocuted in Ri Bhoi district on Saturday.
The deceased Everborn Marbaniang went to a river for fishing where he came into contact with a high tension wire.
He was immediately taken to the Bhoi CHC where he was declared brought dead.
Marbaniang was on official duty for the inauguration of Mawroh PHC and Umynjah Sub centre slated for Monday.
Meanwhile, Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek informed that Monday’s inauguration programme has been deferred indefinitely.
