Businessman abducted in Garo Hills, still untraced

TURA: A businessman abducted from his home in a remote village of Chokpot in South Garo Hills on Friday by gun totting militants remains un-traced raising fears about his well being.
The young businessman, Barculin R Marak (35), was at his home in Rongrikkimgre village, 15 kms from Chokpot, on Friday night when four unidentified men carrying weapons entered his compound shortly after 8 PM and asked him to accompany them to the forests.
They told his ailing father that they needed him as a guide through the area claiming that they were unfamiliar with the terrain and would return him safely by morning. They also said that they were members of the banned GNLA outfit.
It is been two days with no sign of the abducted victim.
The victim was a businessman who ran weekly village markets and was also into brick manufacturing on a small scale.
The family has expressed concern over the well-being of Barculin since the abductors have issued no communication to the family so far.
