SHILLONG: The two-day 14th Shillong Edufest will commence at All Saints’ Hall here on Tuesday. The event, that has benefitted many students so far, is being held in all the state capitals in the Northeast.
“This is the 14th edition of Edufest, and we are privileged to once again bring leading UGC and AICTE accredited educational institutes from India and abroad to the doorstep of students from Shillong,” said Kaushik Barua of Lynchpin, organiser of Edufest and pioneer of career and education fairs in the Northeast. Lynchpin fairs, Barua said, are attended by international government bodies such as British Council, USIEF and Royal Thai and world class educational institutes such as University of Melbourne and Asian Institute of Technology. In a decade, more than 200 top Indian and global institutes have participated in Edufest. This year’s exhibition is slated to feature some of the finest institutions in the country including Amity University, DY Patil, Dayanand Sagar, OP Jindal to name a few of almost 50 universities taking part.
Vipin Sharma, DGM of Amity University said, “For an institution of our repute we have to be very choosy where we participate. Lynchpin’s exhibitions are the only ones in India we participate in and have been doing so since 2006.”
