155th Birth Anniversary of Tagore

Shillong: The department of Arts and Culture, in collaboration with ICCR, Shillong will organise a variety of programmes to observe the 155th Birth Anniversary of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore in Shillong on May 8.
A solemn procession from Jit Bhoomi to the statue of the bard at Brookside, Rilbong, to pay homage to Tagore will be held at 8 AM which will be followed by a formal function at 5 PM at U Soso Tham Auditorium.
Songs, dances, recitations and other forms of performances will be presented by individuals and organisations in English, Bengali, Khasi and Garo to mark the occasion.
