Restaurant gutted in fire at Mawdiangdiang

SHILLONG: A restaurant was fully gutted and three other shops were partially burnt in a fire incident at Mawdiangdiang, Shillong.The incident happened in the early morning hours of Thursday, when a fire broke out in a restaurant belonging to one Holderness Kharlukhi.The fire spread to a pharmacy storeroom belonging to one Paila Kordor Syiemlieh and two tea stalls owned by Kyntiewmon Swer and Regina Kharkongor.While the restaurant was completely gutted the storeroom and tea stalls suffered partial damages.Total loss of property is estimated to be around Rs. 10-15 lakh. However, no loss of human life was reported.Truck catches fire In another fire incident, on May 5 at around 2 AM, one truck (AS01 DC 4494) caught fire on NH 40 at Umran Diary, in Ri Bhoi. The truck was partially damaged.
