Fraud
On May 7, one Anish Kharkongor and Bhavan Adhikari lodged a joint complaint that their business partner, Rohit Chettri was dealing with coal supply from October 15, 2015 to November 25, 2015, amounting to Rs. 55,82,016/- out of which only Rs. 20,35,000/- has been paid by him. When asked to return remaining amount, Chettri handed over two separate cheques for Rs. 5 lakh each. However, the money could not be withdrawn as there was no balance in his bank account.
On May 5 a complaint was filed by one Shishpal Singh that one Manoj Kumar Prajapat, manager of M/s Nongsning Service Station, Nongsning (EJH) fled away with Rs. 4 lakh. After checking the records of the service station, it transpired that the accused had also misappropriated Rs. 12 lakh. Further, it was found that on the same day that the complaint was filed, the accused had deposited Rs. 2 lakh in the bank account of one Pawan Agarwal of Tea Garden, Hindupara, Jalpaiguri.
On May 7, Rajiv Kumar of Umkaliar, Nongmynsong, Shillong lodged a complaint that one Arvind Kumar Singh failed to repay his money amounting to Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Accident
On May 6 at about 6.30 pm, one Maruti local taxi (ML-05G-4885) driven by Denzil Kharpuri (25 yrs), capsized at Ummir, Shillong by-pass (EKH). As a result, the driver sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong.
Threat
Sephrim Thongni lodged a complaint on May 5 that on April 27 one Shemphang Wanniang broke the lock of his house at Banglapluh village (WKH) and later on April 30 threatened his daughter, Aidalin Iawphniaw, with dire consequences.
Robbery
On May 7, Mukesh Jain, Manager, M/s Rymbai petrol pump, Mawiong, Shillong lodged a complaint that at around 4.30 am, two unidentified miscreants armed with daggers, robbed Rs. 17,400/- from one Tata Sumo (ML-10A-8373) driven by Jobin Muktieh and three trucks (MP-09HG-6713), (UP-84T-0597), (UP-75AT-0517), at the petrol pump.The miscreants fled from the scene after committing the crime.
In another similar incident, six unidentified miscreants robbed a driver of Rs 22,000 and two cell phones at 4th Mile, Mihmyntdu (WJH). Pankaj Laskar lodged a complaint that on May 7 at about 2 am, he and his co-driver were proceeding from Mihmyntdu (West Jaintia Hills) towards Guwahati in their truck (AS-01FC-4147) at the time of the theft.
