Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh said Japanese Embassy has requested to provide 15,000 trained nurses from the state to work in Japan.
Addressing an event held here to celebrate International Nurses Day, 2016, Ibobi said there is a great demand of trained nurses from Manipur in South East Asian countries.

As a part of the function, nursing advisors and retired nurses were felicitated and the Best Overall Nurse Award, Prizes for National Cleanliness Day held at JNIMS etc were also distributed.  International Nurses Day is celebrated every year all over the world on May 12 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the modern nursing founder Florence Nightingale.
