Gaya (Bihar): Police conducted raids in Gaya, Nawada and Patna in search of suspended JD(U) MLC Manorama Devi even as bloodstained clothes of Aditya Sachdeva, who was shot dead allegedly by her son Rocky Yadav on Saturday last, were sent for forensic examination on Thursday.
“Raids are being made to arrest absconding Manorama Devi against whom CJM court has issued arrest warrant in the case of recovery of liquor bottles during search for her son Rocky Yadav on Monday,” Senior Superintendent of Police Garima Mallik said.
Police officials said that raids to nab the MLC were conducted in Manorama Devi’s father’s place in neighbouring Nawada and also in Patna and Gaya, but she could not be found.
A police team took the bloodstained clothes of Aditya Sachdeva from his relatives this morning for forensic test, they said. Sachdeva’s parents, meanwhile, said that the case was progressing at a tardy pace and demanded that it should be tried by a fast track court. “In Pathankot attack, the terrorists were killed. In this incident too, you have terrorist and he should be killed,” said his mother. (PTI)
District Magistrate Kumar Ravi said attachment of the property of the fugitive legislator would be made at the direction of court.
Meanwhile, the district labour department today sent a prosecution notice to Manorama Devi’s home in connection with the recovery of a minor domestic help at the house during search process on Wednesday.
“Labour department has sent a prosecution notice of Rs 20,000 to the MLC’s house. If we do not get appropriate reply to the notice, the department will move the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate on Monday,” Labour Superintendent Vikash Kumar Jaiswal said. (PTI)
