28 overloaded coal trucks seized in EJH

SHILLONG: Police along with officials of DMR, Sales Tax and Transport have detected 28 overloaded coal laden trucks at Umkiang in East Jaintia Hills.
It was on May 15, when police along with other officials detected the trucks at Umkiang while transporting coal without challans.
Matter is under investigation.
A day earlier, police had seized 20 coal laden trucks at Nongpoh for transporting coal in violation of the NGT order and prior to that police had seized 29 trucks at Umkiang on Sunday for transporting coal without challans.
