Road mishap claims two; several injured

Shillong: In a mishap reported from Mookyndur under Thadlaskein Block, West Jaintia Hills District, a passenger Star Bus (AS11BC – 6711) heading towards Guwahati from Silchar drove off the road and fell into a gorge when the driver was maneuvering a sharp turning resulting on one casualty and several injured.  One of the passengers, Ismail Hasan (15) died on the spot when the mishap occurred on Thursday at 4:14 A.M. In another incident, a pillion rider died after a Maruti car dashed the  motorcycle in Tura. The incident happened on April 25 at about 7.30 pm, when one Maruti car (ML-08C-6500) driven by Raksan T Sangma dashed against one motorcycle ridden by Simbi Sangma at Tura .In the incident, the motorcycle rider and pillion rider Subam Ch Momin (20) sustained grievous injuries and were shifted to hospital where the pillion rider succumbed to his injuries.
