Unpaid dues: Film shooting firm dupes city guest house
A film shooting company, ‘Neelam Sharma Entertainment Films’ allegedly did not pay the rent after using the services of a guest house in the city. Basan Chettri lodged a complaint that the company represented by Neelam Sharma and Sanjay Sharma lodged the shooting crew at Lumsohphoh Guest House, Motinagar from March 26 to April 3. While they paid Rs. 50,000 as advance for using the services of the guest house, the duo did not pay the remaining amount of Rs. 67,080.
Woman occupies stall through fraudulent means
Secretary, Meghalaya Urban Development Authority, Shillong lodged a complaint that on May 19, one Serapphin Kharwanniang occupied one stall on the second floor of a parking lot at Khlieh Iewduh.  However, during verification of the allotment letter, it was ascertained that the signature of the Secretary, MUDA, was fake.
Robber apprehended
A robber was caught while he along with others was trying to loot two persons on the outskirts of Tura. Alcysius T Sangma lodged a complaint that on May 14 at around 7 pm, while he along with Bickelas B Marak were proceeding from Jengjal towards Tura in a vehicle (ML-05J-2840), unidentified miscreants waylaid their car and attempted to rob them on reaching Aguragre. However, they fought back and apprehended one of the miscreants identified as Matson A Sangma, while others managed to escape.
Body found
On April 24, one unidentified body was found floating in Bamon River under Sibbari in South Garo Hills. Later the cadaver was sent to CH Baghmara for post mortem.
Vehicle missing
Lakhsman Giri lodged a complaint that on May 17, his driver Md. Hamidul Rahman took his Bolero Pik-up vehicle (AS-01EC-3494) to Jagiroad, Assam. However, till date the driver has not returned.
Threat, arson
Prasnida Phai lodged a complaint that on May 9 afternoon, her husband Jimon Dkhar threatened her with dire consequences and also attempted to set her on fire. Later, the accused burnt down her house at Sanaro village (WJH). Loss of property was estimated at around Rs. 1 lakh.
Oil missing from tanker
On the evening of May 9, one oil tanker (AS-01DC-6055) driven by Prodeep Kurmi, left Numalligarh, Assam, but on reaching at Puriang (EKH), the oil tanker met with an accident. Later it was learnt that the oil was missing from the tanker. The driver and his helper fled away after the incident.
