TURA: Failure of the PWD Department to complete the blacktopping of a road in a village in West Garo Hills has compelled the residents of the area to undertake its repair  on their own on Saturday.
The road is the Rongkhon-Boldorenggre-Rongreng road up to Kentagre Village in West Garo Hills which comes under the PWD.
According to the locals, the road was in the process of being black topped when it was halted midway and left incomplete.
Due to the bad weather condition and the duration of keeping the road under construction, it has now completely eroded compelling the residents to undertake its repair.
The Garo Students Union, CEC which has taken up the issue has demanded the PWD to re-start its repair immediately.
The student body has also urged the local MLA to look into the matter.
