TURA: The employees of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) have, in a joint statement, denied the physical assault charge leveled against them by one Sweetie Ch Momin.
Momin, in her complaint lodged at Tura Women Police station recently, claimed that two persons, Chris Jenny Ch Marak and Barjilla, had physically assaulted and abused her during the pen-down strike called by the employees in protest against non-payment of salaries on April 27.
“Sweety disrespected the terms of the agitation by remaining inside the office when everyone else had gathered in the compound. She was repeatedly requested to come out, but she refused. The protestors had no option but to force her out of the room and warn her verbally not to defy the terms of the agitation,” the employees claimed.
The employees, while terming her allegation as malicious, have also demanded an unconditional apology from Momin.
